Winter Wonderland At Last

The view across Squam Lake In New Hampshire, from The Manor on Golden Pond is always a serene and tranquil picture. But in our location in the lakes region of New Hampshire and at the foothills to the White Mountains, having cold temperatures and practically bare ground is no way to head into winter. After all, winter just isn’t winter without a good old Nor’easter and after doing our snow dances; our efforts have been rewarded with a serene and tranquil winter picture! The mountains, the lakes and all around the state are covered in a mantle of fresh white snow. In central New Hampshire we received varying amounts from 14 inches to 22 inches of snow. Some areas around Squam Lake may have even picked up more with the wind blowing snow across the icy frozen surface of the lake. The White Mountains may have gotten a bit less but all over the state it is a beautiful vision of winter just as we always imagine and just as postcards always depict winter in the this part of New England.

And so finally, now it’s time to plan the ideal New Hampshire getaway for winter enthusiasts or winter romantics. Whether you ski, snowshoe, snowmobile, cross country ski or enjoy any other cold-weather outdoor activity, New Hampshire has timed the perfect snowstorm for a romantic escape to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy winter.
